Isn’t one of the most important things in drifting a high-performing and reliable e-brake?
ASD custom designed and built its hydro e-brake systems from the best materials possible to provide the maximum performance in the harsh demanding environment of professional drifting competition – as a bonus ASD’s form following function design also happens to look bad-ass too!
This is the same e-brake used in all ASD’s race cars competing and winning global drift events including Formula D, Word Drift Series and King of Europe. It’s also not surprising that many professional drivers and teams competing against ASD also use an ASD e-brake – heck, we don’t discriminate.
We’re so confident that you’ll love our e-brake that we offer a money back guarantee (see tab above).
The e-brake’s product features include:
- 16” e-brake handle, CNC machined from 6061 aluminum
- Wilwood master cylinder
- Black powder coating on base and master cylinder
- 6061 red anodized FK bearing heim joint
- Aircraft grade hardware
- 5/8" master cylinder
- pass-through hydraulic delivery system
- Turnkey hardware installation options
- Complete E-brake assembly weighs less than 2.3 lbs.
WARNING: installation of ASD’s e-brake will make the driver grin continuously
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ‘PASS THROUGH’ AND ‘RESERVOIR’ ASD E-BRAKE SYSTEMS?
ASD’s ‘Reservoir’ E-brake incorporates its own brake reservoir working independently from the vehicle’s brake system. ASD’s ‘Pass Through’ E-brake works in-line with the existing vehicle’s brake system.
WHAT E-BRAKE SYSTEM SHOULD I CHOOSE (PASS THROUGH OR RESERVOIR)?
Vehicle applications that have one brake caliper on each wheel will use the ‘Pass Through’ system. However, if you are running two brake calipers on each wheel you will need the ‘Reservoir’ ASD e-Brake.
DOES THE ASD HYDRAULIC E-BRAKE WORK WITH DRUM BRAKES?
We do not recommend use with drum brakes.
IS THERE A BRAKE PAD YOU RECOMMEND USING IF YOU’RE RUNNING A WILWOOD DUAL CALIPER SET-UP?
We recommend using a Wilwood “B” compound pad for the best locking capabilities with your e-brake.
IS THERE A BRAKE PAD YOU RECOMMEND USING IF YOU’RE RUNNING AN OEM CALIPER SET-UP?
Any non-race type compound will work well, which means any brake pad that is not recommended for high temperature use (normally rear brake rotors on drift cars do not see temperatures high enough for race compounds to be effective). When available for your application, the Hawk DTC60 compound is a great choice (but not required).
SHOULD I USE ANY PARTICULAR TYPE OF BRAKE FLUID?
You can keep using whichever brake fluid you currently use in your car. We recommend a minimum of DOT3 and prefer DOT4 for all performance cars.
CAN I PURCHASE JUST THE HANDLE?
Our ASD-designed handle is only sold as part of the ASD Hydraulic e-brake. However, ASD E-brake handles damaged in racing accidents can be replaced for prior customers upon proof of original purchase and by shipping the customer’s original handle to ASD for disposal.
DO I NEED THE -3AN ADAPTER?
ASD offers master cylinder adapters to fit -3AN* braided lines for its E-Brake products. Two adapters are used for the inlet and outlet ports on ‘Pass Through’ master cylinders and one adapter is used for ‘Reservoir’ master cylinders. These are master cylinder -3AN adapters only, -3AN braided lines must be purchased separately. * Note: -3AN is an U.S. military-grade fitting specification used to connect flexible and rigid tubing carrying fluids or the link to the -3AN ADAPTER product page
DO I NEED THE HARD LINE FITTING ADAPTER?
The Hard Line Fitting Adapter converts the 7/16-24 thread in the “Pass Through” master cylinder inlet port to a very common 3/8-24 thread as used with 3/16” hard line brake nuts. Used only with “Pass Through” master cylinders. Highly recommended when plumbing with 3/16” steel hard lines (and when not using -3AN flexible lines). – for the link to the HARD LINE FITTING ADAPTER product page
